Rivalries run strong against the Tribe of Pride. The neighboring town, Munster, could be considered one of the top competitors for basketball, but Lake Central managed to scoop up a win of 47-38 on Tuesday’s game.

“The Munster/LC rivalry has gone back to as far as I can remember. Munster has always been a tough match-up for us, and every time we match up with them we have to bring our ‘A’ game. We pulled off a close win this time by staying focused and with the support of our great crowd,” Tyler Ross (12) said.

Both schools wore blue to the game, but during the first half Munster fans tore off their shirts, revealing white ones underneath. Throughout the game, student sections were getting salty at each other, due to each being so enthusiastic.

“[Munster is] a great rivalry [because] every year players and students love the games. Not only are the players involved, but so are all of the fans,” John Gbur (12) said.

The Indians’ next game is Dec. 21 against Morton, played at home.
