On Sat. Dec. 28, Varsity Boys Basketball placed first in the DAC Winter Tournament.

“It felt really great to win this tournament, especially against teams in our conference,” Joe Bannister (11) said.

With a final score of 71-45, the team dominated the Crown Point Bulldogs in the second and final game of the tournament.

“I think the team played great all day. The only things we need to fix are little things like boxing out and taking care of turnovers,” Tyler Wideman (12) said.

The next game the team plays is on Friday Jan. 3 against Indianapolis Arsenal Tech.

“Indianapolis Tech is a bullet on the schedule; they’re one of the top teams in the state and country with many Division 1 players,” Tye Wilburn (12) said.

Also during this tournament, Wideman, who is committed to Butler University, scored his 1,000th career point. With such positive events occurring, the team is working hard and keeping their hopes high for defeating Indianapolis Tech.

“It felt great to win this DAC Winter Tournament. Playing two games in one day is not something we do often in high school, but one of our teams greatest strengths is our toughness, and that’s why we came out on top,” Tyler Ross (12) said.
