The LGI room was packed as incoming freshman parents filed in for an informational meeting about the changes of high school and the activities offered at Lake Central. Parents had the opportunities to meet counselors, tour the high school and learn about clubs.

“On Tuesday night different clubs got together and welcomed incoming freshman parents to LC,” Olivia Oster (9) said.

Tables were set up in the cafeteria for teachers to give parents an idea of the different activities and classes that are offered at Lake Central. Guidance counselors were also available to answer questions for parents. Class Cabinet members gave tours of the first floor of the new academic wing and both floors of the freshman center.

“We were just showing the parents around and trying to make them comfortable with the school and show off some of the new technologies and features. It was difficult at first because I had no clue where I was going [in the new wing], but eventually I figured out that each floor has the same floor plan, so after a while I got it down,” Ashley Fitch (12) said.

The incoming freshmen will have a chance to tour the new building before school starts in August.
