On Feb.11 at 6 p.m, the gymnastics team lost their meet against Chesterton High School. The team’s overall score was 106-91.

“Since many girls sat out due to injury, some of the younger girls got bumped up to varsity. It’s a good experience for them to have,” Assistant Coach Lydia Morgan said.

Although six girls were injured and could not compete in some events, they all still came to support their teammates.

“I went [to the meet] to support my teammates and I went to cheer them on,” Lauren Druzbicki (10).

After each performance on bars, floor and beam, the crowd and teams cheered for the girls. Coaches were very supportive and gave constructive criticism.

“I’m happy about my score. I definitely can do better and I still need to clean things up,” Maya Tobin (9) said.

The next upcoming home game is Feb. 26 against Merrillville High School.
