Before the game, the team made its entrance onto the court by running around the perimeter of the Crown Point gym floor. The final score of the game was 77-43.

The evening of Crown Point’s senior night, the varsity boys basketball team took control of the Bulldogs’ gym floor. The final score on Friday, Feb. 21 was 77-43.

“We came out with a lot of energy. Crown Point is a rival, so we knew we had to play well,” Tyler Ross (12) said.

Throughout the game the Indians nearly doubled Crown Point’s score. By the end of the first half, the boys had scored 42 points against Crown Point’s 21.

“We expected them to come out and play as hard as they did in the first quarter. We knew that they would be a much-improved team from the first time we played them,” Tye Wilburn (12) said.

The team previously played Crown Point during the Duneland Athletic Conference tournament in early January.  Both times, Lake Central took the victory.

“[This time] there were more fans. The first time we played them, they were missing plays,” Tye Wilburn (12) said.

The team will go on to play John Adams High School this Friday and Sectionals will begin on March 4.
