The new show “Resurrection,” had its series premiere on Sunday, March 9. In this supernatural and drama-based show, the lives of deceased loved ones come back to their homes in Arcadia, Mo. The series is based on the book “The Returned” by Jason Mott.

The first episode starred Landon Gimenez, who plays 8-year-old Jacob, who wakes up alone in a rice plantation in a rural Chinese province. When Jacob recalls he lived in Missouri, an immigration agent, J. Martin Bellamy, (played by Omar Epps) takes him back to his parents, Henry (Kurtwood Smith) and Lucille Langston (Frances Fisher) who claimed to have lost their son 32 years ago.

Those close to the Langston family try to unravel the truth, including Sheriff Fred Langston (Matt Craven) whose wife drowned trying to save Jacob. But Jacob has secrets about his death that Fred’s daughter Maggie (Devin Kelly) starts investigating.

The first episode grabbed the viewers attention and is keeping them in suspense for the next episode with more than one cliff-hanger.

Throughout the season each episode is centered around a person returning from the dead. Resurrection airs on ABC on Sunday nights at 8 p.m.
