On Thursday, March 13, the Word of Life club gathered together to watch “The Encounter,” a 2010 film based on Christian values and beliefs.

“[The movie] reminded me that we’re all the same and that God’s always there — even if we don’t realize it,” Samantha Marino (10) said.

The movie’s plot involves five strangers who, due to a road closure, are forced to come together at a roadside diner. The owner, who seems to know everything about them, claims he is Jesus.

“I liked the movie because it reminded me that Jesus and God are always there for me and that they love me,” Amanda Slavich (9) said.

Students come to Word of Life to grow in their perspective of God and the people around them.

“I like how it enforces my faith and helps me to be able to see others as they are,” Victoria Mink (10) said.

The club’s next meeting will be held this next week on Thursday, March 20 in Room C326.
