On Thursday, Oct. 16, the freshman boys football team succeeded against the Merrillville Pirates at Clark Middle School. The final score was 28-12.
Lake Central lead the game 8-0 by the end of the first quarter. By halftime the score was 22-6.
“We didn’t let up except for once. We let up while we were ahead,” Mark Formella (9) said.
The boys were up by 22 points during the second quarter, but the coaches gave them a talk at halftime to make sure they kept on top of their game.

“We played as a team and did really well. We definitely improved from the first half,” Luis Degollan (9) said.
The boys will face Crown Point High School next at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18.
