From October 10 to October 14 the club Dollars for Scholars held their annual Penny Wars week, in which they collect donations from students and teachers which will go towards scholarships that are to be given out at the end of the school year to seniors who apply for it.

Also, during that week, the Dollars for Scholars members sold donuts and juice before the school day began. The senior class came out on top raising the most money, a total of $58.83.

The total amount of money raised for all the grades combined was $166.90. The junior class earned $37.28, the sophomore class earned a total of $35.70, and the freshmen class came up with $35.09.

“The numbers were sad this year for Penny Wars,” Mrs. Sarah Cancialosi, the club sponsor, said.

More donations are hoped to be raised with the Penny Wars being held at all three middle schools and each elementary school.
