With the school year coming to an end, many are ready for a break from school work and academics. Others are enrolled in summer classes and are looking forward to themx. Summer classes are a way for students to stay on top of the game and get ahead for the following year.
“[Summer school] really gives me an opportunity to free up my senior year schedule for electives I want to take. I was also out of school for a long time this past semester and really need to make up a couple of classes I didn’t do too well in. I think it will be very beneficial for me,” Mia Lopez (11) said.
Lake Central Students are offered an array of classes to take this summer from AP Art History to Chinese I & II and much more.
“Personal Finance is required for graduation, and I just wanted to take it this summer to get it done and over with so that I wouldn’t have to take it my senior year. I plan on taking a lot of fun electives my senior year,” Justin Price (11) said.
Registering for summer classes is super easy and can be done online between April 13 and June 3 at www.indianaonlineacademy.org.
“I am taking [summer classes] because I failed Spanish II, and I really need to gain a better grade in that class. I want to raise my GPA before I apply to colleges,” Talia Harman (11) said.
The cost is fifty dollars per credit, and finals will be held July 20 through July 23 at Lake Central High School.
“I want to get [summer classes] them out of the way, and I did not want to take them this year,” Breanna Dobos (11) said.
