The JV volleyball team secured another victory after defeating Chesterton on Aug. 27. The ladies won 2-1 and are continuing their undefeated season.
“We haven’t lost a game yet, so we’re doing pretty good,” Jessie Balka (10) said.
The ladies won the first set, but lost the second. They stepped up their game in the third set and won with a score 15-6.
“The first two sets were really slow and we didn’t play how we normally play,” Olivia Rogers (10) said. “The third set we picked it up and that was how we usually play.”
Even though the ladies defeated Chesterton, there are many skills they want to improve on in the season.
“[We need to improve our] talking and just being mentally ready for everything,” Alyssa Gomez (9) said.
The ladies will next face their rival team, Crown Point, on Sept. 1.
“I’m looking forward to playing the tough teams like Crown Point, Valparaiso and Munster,” Balka said.
