The Indians brought their A-game against the Valparaiso Vikings on Jan. 11. The freshman girls played an energetic game and won with the final score of 34-19.

“[As a team], we really need to work on talking and passing,” Jaidyn Brown (9) said.

In the first quarter, the Indians trailed the Vikings, but Lake Central came out on top.

“I think we had a rough start at the beginning, but we finally started to pick up and play well,” Camille Bereolos (9) said.

With their basketball season quickly coming to a close, there is one major goal the team would like to accomplish.

“[Our team goal] is to win Conference. We have to beat Chesterton,” Brown said.

By the end of the first half, the Lady Indians had a lead on the Vikings with a score of 18-11. Although, the girls played well, there are aspects they feel they can improve on.

“I think we played really well as a team. It was an aggressive game, but we pulled through and won,” Jaidyn Brown (9) said.

The team’s next game will be Thursday, Jan. 14 against Crown Point.
