The gym was filled with parents, friends and teachers eager to watch the JV girls basketball team play against the West Side Leadership Academy from Gary, Ind on Jan. 13. It was 5:30 p.m. when the Indians swarmed the floor ready to take on West Side.
“As a team we played really well. We have some improvements to make but we came together and won,” Anna Weir (10) said.
The JV girls have many goals they plan on achieving throughout the rest of the season. The time they are given during practice will benefit the team for their goals.
“Our goals for the rest of the season are to finish up the season and be DAC champions and to just keep improving on our game in every single practice,” Weir said.
The team worked together on the court, which ultimately paid off in the end.
“I feel like I played okay today. We all gelled together as a team and we took the ‘W’, ” Bailey Fehrman (9) said.
The Indians swept West Side with a final score of 65-24. The next game will be Jan. 20, at Lowell High School. The game will start at 5:30 p.m.
