The freshman boys basketball team played against the Portage Indians on Wednesday, Feb. 3. The boys stayed in the lead throughout the game and ended with a final score of 40-28.

“It was pretty good knowing that we’ve faced them before. We didn’t do so hot the first time. It’s good to know that we’ve improved. [The team can improve on] getting back on defense and better transitioning,” Isaac Beatty (9) said.

At half time, the freshman boys were in the lead with over triple the amount of points Portage had. Even with this win, the boys hope to continue their winning streak for the rest of the season.

“It felt good [to win]. We played well as a team. I hope we go undefeated. That’s our goal, to go undefeated,” Joshua Graziano (9) said.

The next freshman tournament is Saturday, Feb. 6. against the Munster Mustangs and the game is at Munster High School.
