The lights lowered and the curtain opened for the Lake Central Theater Company to perform its opening show of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe on Thursday, June 16.
For some, the play marked an end for the thespians’ career at the high school.
“This was my last [Lake Central Play]. It hasn’t hit me yet that it’s over because I’ve been doing plays here for so long. I’m going to miss it a lot. I’m not sure if I’m going to do another summer play, but I’ll enjoy coming back to see everyone,” Anastasia Rauch (‘16) said.
For others, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe marked a beginning.
“I was nervous since it was my first [play]. In general, I don’t get nervous easily, so I was okay for the most part. It was just the first couple seconds leading up to it, but the second I got on stage it all went away,” Alexander Morgan (‘16) said.
Rauch, Morgan, and Madison Fredrick (11), all agreed that opening night was a success.
“I feel like [the play] went really well. It was a good run. The fight scene went well, and it was great,” Fredrick said.
The last performance was on Sunday, June 19 at 2 p.m.
