Q: How long have you been cheerleading?
A: I have been cheering since I was five.
Q: How long did it take you to become flexible? How long have you been taking gymnastics?
A: I have been in gymnastics since I was three, and I am still taking lessons.
Q: What is the biggest highlight of your cheerleading career at Lake Central?
A: This year we are going to Orlando, Florida for nationals, and I am looking forward to that. Hopefully that will be my biggest highlight.
Q: What was your worst cheer accident?
A: I fell out of a stunt and injured my knee, but it was one of the easiest stunts, so it is kind of ironic. I thought I might have torn my ACL.
Q: As an upperclassmen, what is your favorite thing to help the underclassmen with?
A: My favorite thing to do is pump them up before we throw our routines.
Q: What is it like cheering at football games and seeing the student section?
A: It is actually really fun seeing the student section. I love seeing the energy of a pumped up crowd.
Q: What is the team’s biggest goal this year?
A: Our biggest goal every year is to win state.
Q: What are you personally excited for this year?
A: I am most excited for Orlando and for state. I also love cheering at football games.
Q: How much time does it take to prepare for competitions, state and nationals?
A: We have tumbling on Mondays, then we practice Tuesday through Thursday. As of right now, we do not have practice on Fridays because of football games.
Q: Would you ever want to cheer in college?
A: I really want to cheer in college, but I am not sure where I want to go yet.
