The LC Winter Guard showcased their hard work and dedication at their fundraising Spaghetti Dinner on Feb. 16, 2012. The performance not only displayed the high school routines, but also included the middle school shows.
“[The Spaghetti Dinner] was for friends and family to see us perform and raise money. Our goal was to raise at least $2000 for costumes, flags and travel expenses,” Megan Bednarek (11) said.
Some members of the high school Winter Guard were chosen to assist with teaching the middle school Guards the basics that they need to advance their skills for the future.
“We help if they have questions, so it’s an introduction so that they will hopefully continue with [Winter Guard] in high school,” Mackenzie McGrath (11) said.
Following the Spaghetti Dinner, the Winter Guard performers were given the chance to show off their routines to a full crowd.
“I had a good show, but we didn’t have much time to warm up, so it wasn’t our best performance,” Bednarek said.
The Winter Guard is looking forward to their competition at the Muncie Regional in March and will end their season with the Winter Guard International in Dayton, Ohio, on April 12-14.
