The Boys Track team’s season has just started up. At their first meet, the Boys pulled through with a win against their longtime rival, Munster. Randall Trembacki (12) is the captain of the team who led them to victory.
“We won at our first meet against Munster. [Coach Rudy] Skorupa thinks we can beat six school records this year,” Trembacki (12) said.
Though each event has its own form of captain, Trembacki was put in charge of the entire track team this year and is enthusiastic about being the head captain.
“I’ve always been really active in track since freshman year. I’ve led the workouts before. Now that I’m a senior, it’s my team,” Trembacki said.
Trembacki was confident he would be named captain. He believes the boys have worked hard for a good season, and he plans to lead the team in points this year.
“I did expect [being named captain]. I’ve been working hard for three years, and I’m the leading point-scorer returning this year. I’m just looking to lead the team in points again this year and pull us through to a good season,” Trembacki said.
Trembacki is looking forward to the upcoming season and to begin running out in the fresh air against some new opponents in the Duneland Athletic Conference.
“I can’t wait [until] we go outdoors. There are new sectional teams this year; it should be interesting,” Trembacki said.
