Varsity Volleyball comes together for a team huddle during a timeout. Coach Matt Clark gave them a pep talk during the timeout.

Thurs., Sept. 21, Crown Point defeated Lake Central’s varsity volleyball team in three sets with the scores of 25-16, 25-14 and 25-17. Even though the girls lost, they played their hardest during this tough match.

“We played really good the first set, if we would’ve kept the energy going I think we would’ve done better. We get down on ourselves too much and if we fix that we would’ve done way better,” Alexa Sherlund (11) said.

Despite the girls getting down on themselves, they supported each other during the strenuous match.

“This team is really special because we always have each other’s backs and no one blames each other. Everyone is supporting each other,” Mia Dinino (12) said.

The team starts Sectionals Tuesday, Oct. 10. The girls will continue to work hard and be supportive of each other on and off the court.

“I really want to end my senior year on a good note,” Mia Dinino (12) said.

Their next game is Saturday, Sept. 23 at the Warsaw Community High School Invite.
