Jacob Brazzale (12) receives his award for ‘pride, hustle, desire.’ He was on the swim team for three years.

On Wednesday, March 21, the boys Swimming and Diving team celebrated the end of their season with a banquet. During this banquet, team members received awards and letters for their achievements.

“I feel as though it was an honor to be able to work as hard as I did and have my hard work pay off. Being lettered is just one of the ways to show off all of my hard work. Throughout the season, I have achieved a lot, I had taken seventh at DAC and fifth at Sectionals. I had improved my skills by the end of the season, scoring an average of 120 per meet at the beginning to scoring around 190 at every meet at the end of the season,” Devin Menconi (11) said .

The boys were awarded their varsity letters as well as other accomplishments such as MVP and most improved. Swimmer, Riley Ingram (11), was awarded MVP for overall score this season.

“I felt accomplished because I achieved something that is very hard to get. I think all the hard work and dedication towards the sport and the support from my family [helped me achieve this],” Ingram said.

Another team member that received an award was Jonathan Thrall (9), who was awarded with  ‘Rookie of the Year’ for his performance this season.

“[Getting the award] feels great especially after all the hard work throughout the season. I’ve contributed some good [placings] at Sectionals, DAC and throughout the season,” Thrall said.
