On Tuesday, April 18, the Lake Central bands performed their spring concert in the auditorium. It was a big night for the bands, as it was Mr. David Nelson’s, Director of Bands, last concert.

The directors gave out letters and patches to the students who had worked long hours to deserve them.

“I felt really accomplished and like all the work and effort I put in was worth it,” Sophia Powers (10) said.

Also, awards were given out to the students who had earned them.

“It’s great to win an award at something you love to do. I never expected this to happen. It feels awesome to be recognized,” Noah Whitney (12) said.

Lastly, the directors revealed the 2018-2019 marching band show idea, and wrapped up the night with goodbyes to their director.

“It was really touching to watch the video of all of the pictures of Mr. Nelson because, even though I’m a freshman, he has done a lot for me and I know he has done tons for the rest of the band kids. The video almost brought me to tears because of the realization of how much he does for the percussion section, and how much we take it for granted,” Brenna Sealy (9) said.
