The Varsity boys basketball team defeated the Gary Lighthouse Lions on Dec. 5, with an ending score of 58-34. The boys went into the game ready to defend the hoop against their opponents.

“We started to prep for this game a couple days before and going over their sets and then ours. Usually the JV will replicate their offense and we’ll defend it,” Hunter Zezovski (12) said.

The boys maintained a solid lead against the Lions throughout the whole game. They worked together offensively and defensively in order to push themselves closer to victory.

“The game went great and it was a good effort from the entire team all around, we were able to handle their pressure and tempo well and play at our pace and not theirs,” Ami Khatra (12) said.

Throughout the game the student section carried out their job of hyping up the boys. The energy reflected the outcome of the players’ performances throughout the night.

“The student section always impacts the way we play. They keep us very engaged and make everything more exciting,” Kyle Blum (12) said.

After winning yet another game, the boys continue their undefeated streak this season. The boys hope to continue this streak by winning their next games on Dec. 10 against Gary Westside.

“It was a great team win and an awesome feeling. That’s our outcome every game no matter what. And so far we’ve achieved that outcome every game so far,” Zezovski said.
