On Oct. 23, the Varsity Volleyball team defeated Valpo on their home turf for the Regional Championship—the first time the Lady Indians have taken the title since 1994.
“It feels amazing [to win Regionals]. We had a feeling we would go far because we work so well as a team,” Nicole Garza (12) said.
In an intense set of games in which the lead shifted from one team to another, the Indians never wavered. The girls stood their ground in all three games, ending with scores of 25-22, 26-24, and 25-18.
“There were so many emotions. We didn’t know if we were nervous or excited,” Josephine Binette (12) said.
The team’s year of hard work has paid off as the girls head to Huntington North Saturday, Oct. 27 to face Carmel High School in Semi-State.
