Writing “happy Earth Day” on the sidewalk in chalk, Lily Stiteler (11) grabs a yellow chalk to draw a sun. The Environmental Club met in front of Door B to draw pictures in front of the sidewalk. “I think it’s important to be in Environmental Club because I care about the Earth. I think everyone should care about the Earth because we only get one,” Delilah Teczar (10) said.
For their monthly meeting, the Environmental Club went outside in front of Door B to draw in chalk. Their monthly meeting fell conveniently on Earth Day, and they took to the sidewalk with chalk to spread awareness for healthy environmental practices.
“I think drawing on the sidewalk where a lot of students walk in and out of the school every day is a really cool way to get awareness raised about Earth Day,” Kaylee’ Phillips (11) said.
For many, environmental awareness is not exclusive to Earth Day, and participate in the club year-round,
“Environmental Club seemed fun and interesting when I first joined earlier this year, but now I’m actually very interested in the environment and helping it,” Tristan Rothchild (9) said.
