From the dance floor to the photo booth, students mingled and caught up at Winter Formal hosted by N-teens. The theme was based on the movie ‘Princess and the Frog’. Refreshments and a meal were provided throughout the night, which started at 6 pm and ended at 10 pm.
“My favorite part about formal was dancing with my friends and seeing everyone have a good time. I went to Winter Formal to have an exciting time, spend time with friends and enjoy the experience of a special event. It’s a great way to celebrate the season and make great memories. Next year, I hope there will be more songs that people are familiar with and that they will dance to,” Precious Fasanya (11) said.
During the second half of Winter Formal, the king and queen of the dance were announced. Zaynah Khaja (12) won as the queen and Cal Bowman (12) won as king.
“I felt super shocked and surprised that I won Winter Formal queen. I was not expecting to win. I promoted myself by posting funny videos on my story and pictures saying to ‘vote for me’. I was trying to promote my easy going and funny personality so people would relate, laugh and vote for me. Honestly, leading up the dance I was super busy with homework, so I was super tired before the dance. Overall, my favorite part of the formal was dancing with my friends after I won because it was super hype,” Khaja said.
