On Sat. Dec. 8, ACT testing took place at Lake Central. It was one of the six ACT tests administered throughout the year.
“I think [taking the ACT] will help me graduate and get into a good college,” Maria Karras (11) said.
It is recommended to take the test in the spring of your Junior year, because it gives you time to plan.
“ It’s important to take the ACT so that you can see what areas you need to work on, what areas are strengths for you, and how you compare to others who took the test,” Lauren Sandor, Guidance, said.
The test can also show students how prepared they are for their first year in college.
“If your scores are at or above the ACT Benchmark scores (English-18, Math-22, Reading-21, and Science-24), you are likely ready for first year college courses,” Sandor said.
Additional Information can be received from any of the guidance counselors or by going online to actstudent.org. The next ACT testing date is Feb. 9. Testing locations in the area for that date include the Academic Learning Center-Purdue University in Crown Point, Bishop Noll Institute, and Andrean High School.
