LCEC is finishing off the 2012 year with the hopes of expanding the projects of the club.

The club sponsor Jackie Ruiz, Science, has expectations of what she would like to see the club do next semester.

”We as sponsors would like to see them do: community service project, celebrating Earth Day, community-wide Recycling Drive, working with other school clubs especially environmental clubs, Hosting guest speakers on a variety of topics, filming clips on LCTV to inform and motivate our school campus to do more with the 3 R’s(reduce, reuse, recycle),” Ruiz said.

Ruiz and the other sponsor Mrs. Julie Shupryt, science, have hopes the club will kick off strong for the next semester.

“It would be nice to have an agenda and get things moving in 2013. We don’t have any current projects right now except for designing the 2013 Earth Day t-shirt,” Ruiz said.

The Earth Day t-shirt will be in the workings after winter break. The club is hoping to have the design ready and order forms typed out and passed around before the week of Earth Day.

“We probably will start selling it as soon as we get back from break,” Ruiz said.
