Pool construction leads to driver inconvenience

A long hose extends across the parking lot due to drainage of the new pool. It took about 45-48 hours to fill the new Olympic-sized pool and should be done draining by Sept. 20.

On Sept. 18, construction workers began the two-day project of draining what is soon to be the new pool. A long hose is extended across the parking lot in front of the new pool, forcing cars to treat the hose as a speed bump and drive slowly over it.

Before it was drained, the new pool was filled with generic, unfiltered water so construction workers could be sure it is able to hold over 750,000 gallons of water without leakage.

The next step in the pool construction project is to add flooring.

“Now that the [new] pool has passed the leaking/stress test and is being drained, all the pretty tile work and formality of the pool will take place,” Robin Tobias, Principal, said.

The draining is expected to be completed by Sept. 20.
