The freshmen girls basketball team fell to Chesterton on Thursday, Dec. 3. The girls played a hard game but lost by three points. The game ended with a final score of 30-27.
“We lost by three points. I thought we could have done better, but other than that the team did [well],” Laurissa Marquez (9) said.
The girls had a tough start trailing the Lady Trojans 8-15 at Halftime. By the end of the game, the girls gave it their all but came up short. As they reflect on their loss they will try to improve on their strategies and get a win next game.
“The [referees] were not calling fouls, but we have to play hard even though the refs aren’t always on our side. [We need to work on] passing, shooting better [and] looking for down low post,” Marquez said.
Despite taking a loss, the team gave their best efforts and will be working hard to improve for the next game against Portage on Thursday, Dec. 10.
