Lake Central’s Prom took place last weekend, but Prom festivities continued into this weekend for some students. On May 8, the cafeteria transformed into a dance floor for the Best Buddies Prom.
“[Best Buddies Prom] is basically the last meeting of the whole year. We just get together, we get a DJ, and we have some fun,” Jacob Taylor (12), President, said.
Best Buddies, a club that meets every other Monday, raised money to enjoy a special evening of food, dancing and fun, which is tradition for the club.
“We raised the money from [selling] the Prom tickets and doing [a fundraiser]. The tickets cost $20,” Haley Rugis (11), Vice President, said.
After enjoying food catered from Strack and Van Til, an estimated 50 club members who attended the event danced the night away.
“My favorite part about tonight is seeing all the kids get together and dancing and just having a good time,” Rugis said.
