On Tuesday, the Girls Track team worked together to gain their 21st consecutive Sectional win in Lowell, an Indiana state record.
“I am very proud of the win. It feels good to be a part of such a strong team,” Levisa Evans (12) said.
Twenty-one girls placed in their events Tuesday and will be advancing to Regionals.
“We had kind of a rough start, but we continued to stay positive and do our best. I’m so proud of my team,” Moricz said.
Snatching the win by just nine points, it was a happy end to the seniors’ high school track careers.
“As a senior looking back, the best thing that has happened to me at Lake Central was Track and Field,” Evans said.
The Girls will travel to Chesterton on May 22 to compete in the Regional meet.
