The Westlake Basketball teams played their last game at Lake Central on Thursday March 7th. The final scores were 44-41.
“Coaching Westlake has been an amazing experience for me. I’ve gotten close to a lot of the players and it makes my day to see them around school,” Chris Szewczyk (11) said.
Lake Central students coach the Westlake teams. These coaches form a close bond with their players over the course of the year.
“The athletes on the Westlake teams are the most hardworking, kind, and supportive kids I know. They have amazing sportsmanship,” Szewczyk said.
The players constantly support and cheer each other on when their teammate is moving down the court or shooting a basket.
“It’s going to break my heart to leave the Westlake basketball program next year when I graduate.” Szewczyk said.
