Celebrating the Graduates

As everyone knows, the school year is coming to an end. It has been a very busy year of online and in-person learning. Many seniors are upset that they didn’t get the year they desired but some things continued to happen such as prom.

Graduation is next week and everyone is practicing and preparing for it, which also means it’s graduation party season. Since the pandemic many people have been ify about having a graduation party. Parents are worried about covid numbers increasing and trying to take the proper precautions while also giving their son/daughter the party they have been waiting for.

A poll on Instagram found that more people said they are going to be having a party. I feel that since the vaccine came out and the mask mandate has been lifted, having a party is not a problem whatsoever.

However, some people will end up still being paranoid about the chance of catching the virus since not everything is 100% and might end up wearing their mask and following the rules from last year.

When I asked some people what they thought of having a party for their siblings graduation they were excited and said that they have followed all the right precautions to make sure everyone is safe. The precautions are as follows: minimized their guest list, separated tables to make sure people don’t have a big group around them, and individually wrapped the food so it isn’t a cluster and nobody else will be able to touch your food.

So, as you can tell people are following the right guidelines in order to have this party and are being very safe about it.

As for the seniors, I hope that they got the year they wanted even though COVID has messed most things up and made things difficult. I wish that everyone stays safe during graduation season and congratulations to the Class of 2021.
