On Dec. 17, the varsity swimming and diving team came neck-and-neck with the Munster Seahorses.

Lake Central dominated in the diving event, with their score 13 to Munster’s 3. Kristen Copple (11), Abigail Prince (11), and Hannah Leyba (9) placed first through third respectively. Meets are divided into 12 events though, so Lake Central lost with the total score being 92-94.

During the diving event, both schools conducted a cheer-off, where the supporting swim teams chanted at each other. With every new chant, the teams would try to get louder than the opposing, but the coaches stopped the sideline shouting.

“The Munster meet was definitely my favorite one of the season. With the two team cheering, it felt good to laugh in a meet for once” Copple said.

This was the last duel match of the season. The boys’ varsity DAC conference meet is this upcoming weekend on Jan. 26, with the girls’ varsity conference meet starting Feb. 2.
